IN CONVERSATION WITH VARUN GERA

Our Partner, Samsuddha Majumder, talks to Varun Gera, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, HealthAssure, about the key GST-related issues impacting the healthcare sector.

They delve into the cascading effect of tax on OPD services and its incidental impact on end consumers, suggesting changes in the tax regime that could address the issue. They also discuss how tax authorities have recently been sensitive about the input tax credit available to insurance companies on certain services provided to them by their distribution partners and that better alignment between the two regulators could allow for a more conducive approach that takes into account commercial realities in the insurance sector.
