Overview

Janmali is a Partner in the Dispute Resolution practice at Trilegal. He specialises in infrastructure and regulatory disputes with a focus on energy (conventional and RE) and roads.

His litigation expertise includes disputes concerning tariff between generating companies and distribution licensees, change in law and force majeure claims including time and cost overruns, capital cost determination, disputes arising out of power purchase agreements, trading of electricity etc. He has also advised on disputes arising out of concession agreements for road projects.

He has represented clients before various fora including the Supreme Court of India, High Court, Appellate Tribunal for Electricity, Central and State Electricity Regulatory Commissions as well as arbitration proceedings.

Janmali has also advised leading companies (Indian & International) in the energy sector on regulatory and contractual issues relating to transmission of natural gas, power purchase agreement obligations, transmission of electricity, mines and minerals, in particular, relating to coal and environmental compliance.
