Overview

Joseph Jimmy is a Partner in the Banking and Finance group of Trilegal. Joseph has more than 18 years of experience handling finance-related work, with a primary focus on asset finance, structured credit, distressed assets, debt restructuring, and debt capital markets. He regularly advises private sector banks, foreign banks, non-banking finance companies and credit funds on all aspects of debt investment in India.

In the past, Joseph has worked with a leading full-service Indian law firm, where he was a partner in Banking and Finance since 2013. Before that, he worked with a leading London-based law firm. Joseph has been consistently recognised as a highly regarded lawyer by leading legal directories.

  • Asia Real Estate II India Opportunity Fund, as the investors’ counsel on subscription to non-convertible debentures issued by 12 issuer companies in the real estate sector, on a private placement basis
  • Deutsche Bank AG, Singapore Branch, in relation to a credit facility to Blackstone Capital Partners
  • A Consortium of banks, including Axis Bank, ICICI Bank, and HDFC Bank, on a syndicated term loan facility of INR 710,00,00,000 crores provided to an infrastructure company involved in the development, construction and leasing of commercial properties in Pune
  • Kerala Infrastructure Investment Fund Board (KIIFB), on establishment and issue of rupee-denominated bonds aggregating to INR 2150 crores. In a first of its kind, obligations of KIIFB were guaranteed by the Government of Kerala
  • GE Capital, on acting as the arranger in connection with the sale of receivables from a manufacturing company to Barclays Bank
  • CG Power and Industrial Solutions Ltd, in relation to restructuring of debts under a resolution plan involving acquisition of majority shareholding in CG Power by a successful bidder and effecting a change in the management and control and issuance of fresh debt instruments
