Overview
Komal Dani is a Partner at Trilegal. She has been advising various Indian and multinational groups on both, international tax and domestic tax laws of India. She has more than 14 years of experience in tax aspects of mergers & acquisitions.
She has assisted clients with matters relating to establishing a business presence, carve-outs, hive-offs, mergers, repatriation strategies, tax structuring, and employment taxation.
She has been involved in advising clients on the taxation of securitised assets and investments in Alternate Investment Funds using FVCI and FII vehicles. She advises some of the global private equity funds, sovereign wealth funds, Global Capability Centres and multi-national corporations cutting across sectors on complex tax issues, both cross-border and domestic tax laws of India.
Prior to joining Trilegal, Komal worked with one of the leading law firms in India and one of the Big Four accountancy firms.

- Advised SWFs, including Norfund, Investment Corporation of Dubai, and others, on complex cross-border tax structuring and investments.
- Represented global pension funds such as Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan, CPPIB, CDPQ, and IFC on international tax matters.
- Counseled major corporate clients including Tata Sons, Pitney Bowes, and Tech Mahindra on domestic and international tax strategy.
- Led significant tax structuring and international tax issues for professional services firms and banks such as CohnReznick and Baker Tilly in anticipation of private equity investment.
- Advised private equity and investor groups including HIG, Coronis, Capital One, Vesuvius, on tax aspects of indirect transfer tax and permanent establishment.
- Supported market entry and India setup mandates, including establishing India operations for Rosa Stays, and many others.
- Worked with leading global financial partners including AnaCap Financial Partners, Clifford Capital, Morgan Stanley, and PayU on advisory and tax structuring issues
