Mohit has been practicing in the field of dispute resolution, arbitration and white-collar criminal defense for around 13 years. Having started his career at the firm in 2013, Mohit became Partner at Trilegal in 2022. Known for his crisis management and strategic decision-making skills, Mohit has successfully represented clients in complex commercial and cross-border disputes.
Mohit leads a team of specialist lawyers dealing with a wide variety of civil and criminal disputes, and has experience in areas of cross-border investigations and trials, corporate regulatory and internal investigations, military and defence procurement, tender disputes, engineering, procurement and construction (EPC), corporate insolvency, maritime and shipping, foreign exchange laws, bilateral investment treaties, shareholder and joint venture disputes, telecom, media and technology (TMT), intellectual property infringement, etc. Mohit also acts as lead arguing counsel in arbitrations and litigations. He has an established counsel practice and is a regular face in the Supreme Court of India, High Courts, National Company Law Tribunals, National Company Law Appellate Tribunals, TDSAT (Telecom Disputes), ATFE (PMLA and FEMA) and Special Courts (CBI and ED).
Mohit’s corporate criminal defence and white-collar crime practice involves representing clients in domestic and cross-border criminal prosecutions and investigations relating to issues of anti-corruption, anti-bribery, anti-money laundering, economic fraud and employee misconduct. His expertise includes assisting corporations and their key management in investigations of law enforcement agencies such as CBI, ED, DRI, etc. Mohit has been involved in India-related investigations of Italy, France, Brazil, the UK, the USA, Singapore and Bangladesh. He helps clients effectively deal with arrest warrants, look-out circulars, Interpol red corner notices, and requests made under MLAT, Extradition Treaties, UNCAC, and Reciprocity of Assurance.
On the arbitration front, Mohit regularly advises and leads clients in domestic and international arbitrations (including ICC, SIAC, LCIA, DIAC, etc.) as well as in enforcement proceedings. He has represented marquee clients in arbitrations in areas of shareholders disputes, infrastructure and construction, hotel and hospitality, etc. He has also advised on investment arbitrations under bilateral investment treaties involving India, Libya, Mauritius, Singapore, and Bangladesh.
Mohit is an alumnus of Modern School Barakhamba and Gujarat National Law University, B. Com. LLB (Hons.). He is a member of the Supreme Court Bar Association, Delhi High Court Bar Association, International Bar Association Anti-Corruption Committee and International Bar Association Arbitration Committee.
