Overview

Shalaka is a partner in the dispute resolution practice of Trilegal and focuses on international and domestic arbitrations, insolvency and bankruptcy as also general commercial litigation. She has wide ranging experience and has acted for clients in a number of complex, commercial disputes including shareholder disputes, investor-promoter claims, construction, infrastructure matters, licensing disputes, employment disputes and writ actions against state authorities. She has advised on bilateral investment treaties as well. She has a depth of experience in arbitrations – both institutional and ad-hoc seated in jurisdictions such as Mumbai, Delhi, Ahmedabad, Goa, Chennai, Uttarakhand, Singapore, Zurich, New York and London. She also regularly acts and advises on insolvency litigation. She has acted for clients in various courts including the Supreme Court of India, High Courts, district courts, tribunals, NCLT / NCLAT.

Shalaka frequently takes on speaking engagements and has presented before the Indian air force (IAF) officers, MCIA, AIAC YPG, Young ICCA etc. She has also written for various publications including Wolter Kluwers.

Prior to joining Trilegal, she was a partner at a leading law firm in Mumbai and has also previously worked in the disputes practices of top law firms in Mumbai and Delhi.
