Swarnima is a Partner in the Bengaluru office of Trilegal and is part of the Employment practice. Swarnima has worked with domestic and multinational clients on a variety of employment matters, including structuring senior management contracts and remuneration policies, and advising on the effective management of resignations and terminations.
She has assisted clients through disciplinary inquiries, reorganisation and closure of their businesses in India, and trade union issues. She is regularly involved in labour audits and works with clients to rectify their compliance issues.
Swarnima is considered a leading expert on the law on prevention of sexual harassment (POSH) and has handheld several multinational clients in managing POSH complaints, reviewing/formulating POSH policies and comprehensive guidelines for committee members. Swarnima conducts training programs on POSH and D&I issues for industry and employer networks across India.
Swarnima extensively advises Fortune 500 companies on complex aspects of the implementation of the labour codes, including impact of the new definition of ‘wages,’ managing contract-worker engagements and streamlining obligations under the codes. Swarnima has provided formal representations and suggestions to the government on the formulation of the labour codes and the state rules.
