Overview

Swathy is a Partner in Energy, Infrastructure and Natural Resources practice in Trilegal.

She has significant experience in sector-specific M&A and has assisted various domestic and multinational corporations on acquisition transactions, predominantly in the highways and renewable sector, including portfolio acquisitions of large groups with multiple subsidiaries. She is familiar with sector specific issues that needs specific resolution and has conducted review and risk analysis of material contracts, corporate issues, permits, EPC issues etc.

Swathy has also advised and assisted various domestic and multinational corporations on bid processes for green field projects in various sectors such as solar, wind, offshore wind, aviation, shipping, roadways, e-mobility, metro railways and oil and gas. She has also undertaken policy and regulatory advice work in these sectors and has assisted clients in the drafting and finalising of documents (concession agreements, power purchase agreements, construction, supply and operation maintenance contracts) for development of projects on turnkey basis.

  • Edelweiss Group in its acquisition of the L&T IDPL portfolio and on other large highways portfolio acquisition transactions
  • Highway Concessions 1 on multiple highway acquisitions transactions
  • CDC and IFC on their investments in various renewable energy platforms
  • Torrent Power and Sembcorp on multiple acquisitions of solar and wind assets
  • RWE on their partnership with Tata for setting up offshore wind energy projects in India
