Overview

Umang serves as Senior Specialist – Climate Change, ESG Litigation & Regulatory at Trilegal, where she provides strategic counsel to clients in their sustainability journey. She advises leading global and Indian corporates, multinationals, startups, and investors at the nexus of business, law, and sustainability. She advises clients on ESG, sustainable investing, carbon advisory including climate governance, environmental claims risk, and regulatory preparedness in a rapidly evolving policy landscape. She supports organizations across sectors in developing robust ESG compliance, risk mitigation and management systems aligned with Indian and global standards, including business responsibility and sustainability reporting requirements.
She advises clients on evolving regulatory frameworks governing carbon accounting, decarbonization strategy, climate disclosures, carbon markets and emissions reduction commitments and carbon credits.
In addition to her advisory and contentious experience, Umang brings a strong background in securities and banking law, forensic accounting and fraud examination, enabling her to approach ESG disputes and regulatory investigations with both legal and financial insight.
