Neeraj Menon is the Head of the Firm’s Projects practice and has over two decades of experience in the energy and infrastructure sector. He specialises in strategic advice, project development, investments, acquisitions, and restructurings across the energy, infrastructure, and mining industries.
He has advised extensively on the bidding and development of power, oil and gas, transport, and social infrastructure projects, and is recognised as a market leader in the energy transition, climate mitigation, and renewable energy space. His pioneering legal advice on high-value M&A transactions in the energy and infrastructure sectors has enabled clients to structure and execute innovative, market-defining deals.
Neeraj also provides strategic counsel in special situations and complex regulatory or commercial disputes. His expertise is frequently sought by the Government of India and various state governments, including on the formulation of bidding guidelines and the structuring of PPP projects in the energy sector.
Over his career, Neeraj has been at the forefront of numerous first-to-market initiatives, including the first PPP project for a pumped hydro storage plant, one of the largest proposed acquisitions in the oil-to-chemicals and refining business, benchmark-setting renewable energy projects in India and overseas, one of the country’s largest BESS tenders, the first PPP metro rail project, and one of the largest Indian OTS transactions in the energy sector.
