Deal: Trilegal advised on the proposed initial public offering of equity shares by JSW Cement

Trilegal advised on the proposed initial public offering of equity shares (“IPO”) aggregating up to INR 40,000 million by JSW Cement Limited (“JSW Cement”).
JSW Cement is the fastest growing cement manufacturing company in India in terms of increase in installed grinding capacity and sales volume from Fiscal 2014 to Fiscal 2024.
The IPO comprises a fresh issue of equity shares and an offer for sale by the existing investors being State Bank of India, Apollo and Synergy Capital. The proceeds from the IPO are proposed to be used for debt repayment and capital expenditure for establishing a new integrated cement unit.
Trilegal advised a syndicate of 8 book running lead managers, which comprised JM Financial Limited, Axis Capital Limited, Citigroup Global Markets India Private Limited, DAM Capital Advisors Limited, Goldman Sachs (India) Securities Private Limited, Jefferies India Private Limited, Kotak Mahindra Capital Company Limited and SBI Capital Markets Limited.
This follows the IPO by JSW Infrastructure Limited, which was consummated last year, which Trilegal advised as well.
