The Jan Vishwas (Amendment of Provisions) Act, 2023 (Act) is a significant legislative reform which decriminalizes and rationalizes 183 provisions in 42 central laws. The Ministry of Information and Technology has notified the provisions of the Act which amend certain provisions of the Information Technology Act, 2000 (IT Act) and Aadhaar (Targeted Delivery of Financial and Other Subsidies, Benefits and Services) Act, 2016 (Aadhaar Act).
