Deal: Trilegal advises Prosus Ventures on its acquisition of BillDesk for $4.7 billion

Trilegal advised its long-term client and global consumer internet group and technology investor Prosus Ventures (through its payments and fintech arm PayU) on the recently announced acquisition of BillDesk (through IndiaIdeas) for $4.7 billion. This would be a marquee deal for the sector.

This is one of the largest acquisitions in India’s digital payments landscape and by far the biggest consolidation move in the fast-growing sector. Yogesh Singh, Partner and Co-head, Corporate Practice Group, Trilegal, led the deal along with corporate partner Harsh Jain and National Head of the Competition Practice, Nisha Kaur Uberoi. Nikhil Narendran (Technology), Atul Gupta (Employment), Himanshu Sinha (Tax), Jyotsna Jayaram (Technology) and Gautam Chawla (Competition) were other key partners involved in the Trilegal team.
