Deal: Acquisition of a minority stake in Credit Saison India by Mizuho Bank

Trilegal advised on the US$100 million drawdown by Muthoot Finance banner

Trilegal advised Credit Saison India (Kisetsu Saison Finance (India) Private Limited) in relation to a primary investment in Credit Saison India by Mizuho Bank Ltd. (“Mizuho”) and its subsidiary resulting in acquisition of approx. 15% stake in Credit Saison India by Mizuho and its subsidiary.

Credit Saison India is a systemically important non-deposit taking non-banking financial company engaged in wholesale as well as retail lending. Credit Saison India is a subsidiary of Credit Saison Co. Ltd., a Japanese financial services company listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.

The deal team advising on the matter was led by our Corporate Partner Yogesh Bhattarai along with attorneys Pallavi Panigrahi (Senior Associate) and Amarpreet Kalsi, Aryan Shastri, Vrushabh Vasa and Vedant Singh (Associates). Banking and Finance Partner Ameya Khandge and attorneys Aseem Dhawan (Counsel), Pragya Pugalia (Senior Associate), and Subhash Kapur and Sankalp Tiwari (Associates) advised on banking and finance issues and Capital Markets Partner Richa Choudhary and attorney Maitreya Rajurkar (Senior Associate) advised on capital markets issues.
