Deal: Trilegal advised BP Technology Ventures on their investment in Blu-Smart

04 Oct 2021

BP Technology Ventures Limited (bpV), led the Series A round of investment raised by Blu-Smart Mobility Private Limited (Blu-Smart). bpV along with other Series A investors including Mayfield, 9Unicorns and Survam Partners, have invested approximately USD 25 million in BluSmart. Blu-Smart is India’s first all-electric ride hailing and shared smart EV charging service operating through its patented mobile technology application.

Trilegal was the transaction advisor to bpV on all legal aspects of the deal for the Series A investment. This is bpV’s first direct investment in India and follows closely after the recently announced tie up between bp-JIO and Blu-Smart to promote EV mobility and set up EV charging infrastructure in India. BluSmart has the largest fleet of electric cabs for its ride hailing operations and the largest network of EV fast-charging stations across Delhi NCR, and this investment will help them scale up in other major cities in India.

Trilegal team was led by Upasana Rao, Partner and was assisted by Dhruv Chatterjee, Counsel; Aprajita Kapoor, Senior Associate; Saamir Askari and Dushyant Thakur, Associates.
