Deal: Trilegal advised on the QIP by KPI Green Energy

We advised KPI Green Energy Limited (“Company“) and SBI Capital Markets Limited on the qualified institutions placement of equity shares aggregating to INR 3,000 million (“QIP“) by the Company. We were the sole counsel to the QIP.
The Company is a renewable energy player focused on expanding power generation capacities to deliver reliable energy and help expedite India’s march to a net-zero carbon future, and a part of the KP group, a prominent business group with significant experience in the renewable energy sector. It is also one of the leading renewable energy power producers in the solar and hybrid segment in Gujarat. This was the first QIP undertaken by the Company.
This is also one of the first QIPs by a renewable energy power producer in India.
The proceeds of the QIP will be utilised to finance part of the setting up of a 200MW solar power project by the Company. The book-running lead manager to the QIP was SBI Capital Markets Limited.
