Trilegal advised Akasa Air on securing fresh funding to fuel growth

Trilegal advised Akasa Air, India’s fastest-growing airline, on a fresh capital infusion by way of primary issuance of shares to marquee investors, including Premji Invest – the global investment arm of Mr Azim Premji, Claypond Capital – the investment office of Dr Ranjan Pai, and funds managed by 360 ONE Asset – a leading asset management firm. Independently, the Jhunjhunwala family has also committed to an additional capital infusion into Akasa Air.

These funds will fuel Akasa Air’s vision of becoming a top 30 global airline by the decade’s end, driving expansion, innovation, and enhanced customer experience.

As part of its advisory, Trilegal provided legal counsel throughout the process, including reviewing, negotiating, and finalizing the transaction documents. Additionally, the competition team advised on merger control aspects including the CCI filing for the transaction.
