Deal: Trilegal gets approval from the Competition Commission of India in relation to KKR’s investment in Hero Future Energies Global Limited

The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has granted an unconditional approval for KKR & Co. Inc. (KKR), a leading global investment firm, investment in Hero Future Energies Global Limited (HFE Global), the renewable energy arm of the Hero Group.
This is the first set of merger clearances by the CCI after the 108 days hiatus since October 2022.
Trilegal represented KKR on the India competition law aspects of the transaction. Trilegal’s role included representing KKR in filing the merger notification before the CCI and other related competition advisory.
Ardor Holdings II Pte. Ltd. (Ardor), incorporated in Singapore, is a special purpose vehicle indirectly wholly-owned by KKR. Ardor directly invested in HFE Global.
HFE Global, incorporated in England and Wales, is engaged in solar power and wind power generation.
