Trilegal invites eight corporate Partners to join the equity partnership, crosses 100 Partners mark

12 April 2023: Trilegal, one of India’s leading law firms, announced today that its partnership had voted to invite Amit Khansaheb, Vishruta Kaul, Nikhil Sachdeva, Rishi Jain, Abhishek Dubey, Rahul Chugh, Prateek Lala and Pratyush Singh to join the firm as Partners in the Corporate practice. Except for Prateek Lala, who is expected to join the Bengaluru office, all other partners are expected to join the Gurugram office of Trilegal in the coming months. With this move, the Partnership strength of Trilegal will reach 101. Trilegal is among the few firms in Asia that functions on an all-equity lock-step model of partnership, and all inductees will, therefore, directly enter the equity lock-step.

Trilegal has been consistently growing its partnership with the addition of nearly 25 new partners across practices in the last one year, including 10 in the corporate practice. The addition of these eight new partners would take the tally to 33.

About the New Partners (incoming Partners)

Amit Khansaheb is a seasoned corporate lawyer with over 25 years of experience specialising in mergers and acquisitions (M&A), private equity, co-investments, joint ventures and public M&A. His expertise in advising on corporate legal aspects spans diverse industries such as IT and ITES, software, logistics, micro-finance, manufacturing, technology, internet, thermal and renewable energy. Amit has been ranked as a Band 1 lawyer by Chambers and Partners Asia-Pacific Guide 2023 in Corporate & M&A and Venture Capital.

Vishruta Kaul is a seasoned corporate lawyer with over 14 years of experience. She has acted for nearly 200 domestic and cross-border transactions in various sectors, including restructuring mandates, mergers, demergers and joint ventures. She is a trusted advisor to the senior management of leading corporates on corporate governance matters, strategic day-to-day business and compliance issues, and emerging areas of law such as online gaming, space laws and e-commerce. Vishruta is recognised by IFLR 1000 as a ‘Notable Practitioner’ and serves as an independent director on the board of Selan Exploration Technology Limited, an Indian company listed on the NSE and BSE.

Nikhil Sachdeva has over 14 years of experience in a diverse practice portfolio encompassing M&A, venture capital (equity and debt), private equity, joint ventures, general corporate advisory, external commercial borrowing, debt syndication and structured debt. Nikhil routinely acts for nearly for clients in a wide variety of industries, including e-commerce, fintech, gaming, artificial intelligence, aggregators, and technology-focused business, including SaaS, NBFC, and manufacturing.

Rishi Jain has over 16 years of experience specialising in M&A, private equity, venture capital, and corporate law advisory. He has led several complex and innovative transactions, which have since become market precedents. He routinely advises clients in a variety of sectors, including IT and ITES, software, logistics, e-commerce, micro-finance, fintech, education, manufacturing, technology, and business process outsourcing.

Abhishek Dubey has over 14 years of experience advising on a wide range of transactions, including complex acquisitions, business transfer transactions, venture capital and private equity funding rounds, for a variety of clients across sectors such as e-commerce, ed-tech, technology, fintech, retail, manufacturing, telecom, pharma, education, and real estate.

Rahul Chugh has over 13 years of experience in general corporate, M&A, private equity and joint ventures. He routinely advises domestic and international clients on matters relating to venture capital/private equity transactions, M&A, joint ventures, corporate laws and foreign exchange laws and has assisted Mr Harish N. Salve (Senior Advocate, Supreme Court of India) in international commercial arbitration and high-profile matters in the Supreme Court of India and various High Courts in India.

Prateek Lala has over 12 years of experience of advising clients on M&A, PE/VC, and general corporate matters. His portfolio includes advising on complex corporate transactions with an in-depth understanding of cross-border investment laws.

Pratyush Singh is a corporate lawyer with nearly 10 years of experience. He specialises in corporate law matters with a focus on private equity, M&A, and corporate restructuring transactions, both domestic and cross-border. Pratyush also regularly advises on joint ventures, a range of corporate advisory matters, and high-value transactions.
