Trilegal invites Sampath Kumar Rajagopalan to join the partnership in the Corporate practice

1 November 2023: Trilegal’s partnership has invited Sampath Kumar Rajagopalan to join the firm as a Partner in the Corporate practice in Delhi. Sampath will focus on corporate governance and compliance matters for the firm. With his joining, the partnership strength of Trilegal has reached 114.

About Sampath Kumar Rajagopalan

Sampath Kumar Rajagopalan has over 25 years of experience in the corporate governance and secretarial compliance practice. During his in-house years in large multinationals, he worked extensively on regulatory and compliance functions, including Companies Law, FEMA, SEBI, environment laws, labour laws, customs, income tax, economic laws, and other allied laws. His regulatory experience spans service, manufacturing, and distribution companies, and he is proficient at managing HR, administration, and procurement functions through a business and commercial lens.

In the last few years, Sampath has built a formidable reputation as an authority on governance, compliance and transactional matters, advising boards and committees of large listed companies, REITs, InvITs, private companies and LLPs. He interacts with and manages boards comprising leading industrialists in the country, placing him in a unique position to provide legal advisory tailored to commercial priorities. He has also been a member of Boards of Directors of leading multinationals, bringing depth to strategies on corporate structuring, and contentious shareholder and board matters. Sampath’s know-how extends to advising on CSR, as well as leading technology initiatives in areas of Prohibition of Insider Trading and Companies Act compliances. He has also worked with regulators and contributed to policy advisory in areas such as CSR and SBO.

Most recently, Sampath has been a Partner and National Leader at EY. He is also a Trilegal alumnus. He joined Trilegal in 2008 and established the governance and compliance (CGC) practice, later becoming a Partner in the CGC practice of the firm before moving to EY. By welcoming Sampath back into the fold, Trilegal continues to strengthen its 360-degree offerings to clients.
