Trilegal advised SUN Mobility on its fundraise from Helios Climate in partnership with the Private Infrastructure Development Group (PIDG).
SUN Mobility, a global leader in energy infrastructure and battery swapping solutions for electric vehicles, runs a network of more than 900 battery swapping stations, supporting a fleet of over 50,000 electric vehicles. Its open-architecture, globally interoperable battery technology—designed and manufactured in India—caters to a broad range of vehicle segments, including two, three, and four wheelers, as well as heavy electric vehicles, in collaboration with several leading global OEMs.
With this investment, the total capital raised by SUN Mobility over the past year stands at ~USD 135 million. The capital infusion will drive launch of SUN Mobility’s Africa operations by deployment of Africa’s largest battery swapping network and continue to fuel SUNM’s domestic growth. Through this investment, SUN Mobility aims to strengthen the e-mobility supply chain in Africa and South-East Asia, focusing on batteries and quick interchange stations, and is expected to contribute to emission reduction and improved air quality through accelerated EV adoption.
Trilegal advised SUN Mobility on all legal aspects of the fundraise, including deal structuring, documentation, and closing assistance.
The Trilegal team was led by Partners: Yogesh Singh, Kabeer Mathur, Jyotsna Jayaram, and Swarnima; and supported by Counsel: Rangam Sharma; Senior Associates: Chinmay Bilgi, Akanksha Ravi, Swetha Sethuraman, Ushashi Nan, and Madhav Thampi; and Associates: Praduta Singh and Rajdeep Mukherjee.
